Custodian/Groundskeeper
POSITION IS BASED IN SUTTON, MASSACHUSETTSBasic Purpose- Focused on the general cleaning of the facility and grounds while monitoring building security. Must have a keen eye to detail and diligence to ensure the facility is always maintained clean. This role is self-supervised and will report to the Plant Manager. The backup for the role will be sanitation team.
Duties
Maintain floors in clean state by sweeping, mopping and waxing
Empty and clean trash receptacles in all office and production areas
Clean, sanitize restrooms and sinks Ensures lunchroom area is clean at all times
Makes sure locker room area is clean and in order Wipes glass doors and windows
Vacuums all needed areas including a special focus to main entrance
Keep kitchen area clean Report any safety issues
Monitors building security and safety along with monitoring any outside contractors working on the premises
Ability to understand and follow verbal or written directions
Ability to work in a cold environment
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors, furniture and fixtures As needed snow removal of entrances and spread of melting chemicals
All other task as assigned

Qualifications

Experience performing heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors
Ability to handle physical workload
Must be trustworthy, responsible and dependable
Strong attention to detail
Ability to organize workload and complete duties with minimum direct supervision
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to work while maintaining a high priority to safety
Education / Training
High school diploma or GED required
Basic Reading, Writing and Math skills

Related Experience/Requirements
Previous experience with waxing equipment
Minimum 2-4 yrs experience in custodian and sanitation preferred

Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Job requires workers to lift, step, climb, balance, squat, kneel, bend and reach above shoulders as needed.
