Regional Sales Manager East

Catelli Family of Foods is the United States Meat Division of Preval AG, an international food organization headquartered in Quebec, Canada. Catelli Family of Foods is a state-of-the-art meat processing facility and distributor of Lamb, Veal, and Other Specialty Meat Products Located in Collingswood, NJ and Sutton, MA.

Basic Purpose-This position is responsible for managing existing business and developing new sales in the East/South/Central Region for Catelli Family of Foods. In addition to Sales, development and support of our ground beef, value added and portion-controlled products under Catelli Family of Foods and private labeled products for the Foodservice and Retail trades.

This position works with the internal team (sales, marketing, accounting, production, process improvement) as well as the external trade partners (broker, distributor, and operator) in order to make Catelli Family of Foods the customer’s first choice for profitable menu and retail case solutions. This role will report to the VP of Sales.


Plans, organizes, and implements sales programs for the region

Plans and is responsible for achieving sales objectives in the region

Trains, develops, and mentors inside and/or outside sales representatives/brokers and/or distributors for the region

Coordinates budgets, features, forecasts and reports. Oversees or may handle key accounts

Promotes and sells company products through direct customer contacts within assigned geographic territory

Schedules sales calls and submits reports of sales activities

Preparing displays, staffing, and participating in trade shows or conventions

Responds to customer requests or inquiries regarding service, product and account

Analyzes and rectifies customer concerns using established procedures

Conducts sales calls, schedules promotional work and track sales activities

Quotes prices, prepares proposals and provides information regarding terms of sales and delivery dates

Gathers data on marketing trends, competitive products and pricing and reports to management

Ensures technical assistance and information is provided to customers to prevent or resolve problems with product performance

Works with sales, engineering, and production to implement product improvements

Receives and works with customers service to process orders for products or merchandise by e-mail, phone or in person

Performs clerical duties for sales department, time sheets, expense reports, car allowance, sample requests, etc.

Prepares various sales reports, maintains files. Schedules appointments and makes travel arrangements

Provides customers with products or services information to assist them in determining appropriate merchandise purchase

Recommends additional products or services to meet customers needs. May arrange special orders and delivery

Originates phone calls and e-mails to prospective customers and provides information about products and services

Reviews sales efforts with peers to identify opportunities and/or prospects

Other tasks assigned. Changes can be executed with or without notice


    Proven work experience in sales

    Complete knowledge of the organization’s policies, products and services

    Strong ability to develop new business (within assigned region or industry)

    Ability to direct all field services operations and supervises broker network

    Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives

    Leadership skills and ability to manage staff

    Strong decision making and problem-solving skills

    Excellent communication skills. Provides training and service literature to customers

    Driven, tasked orientated individual. Develops relationships with new and existing customers while providing information to maximize sales volume

    Demonstrate leadership experience with a high-functioning ability

    Strong attention to detail and ability to work well in a team setting

Related Experience/Requirements Minimum 5 yrs. in Center of the plate foodservice or retail experience
Physical Requirements Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Job requires light lifting, setting up for shows, presentation to sales forces through the required region. Must be able to: step, climb, balance, squat, kneel, bend and reach above shoulders as needed.
