Purchasing/Inventory Control Coordinator

The Purchasing/Inventory Control Coordinator performs all aspects of purchasing for the company and managing the inventory, distribution and control of those items. The Coordinator must identify the products that are to be purchased, identify the most appropriate supplier for the products, confirm all deliveries and maintain inventory control database.
  • Work with company department managers to determine purchasing needs and requirements
  • Identify the most appropriate supplier for the designated product, determines availability, perform comparative pricing and negotiate pricing, confirm quality of products and establish delivery requirements/timelines
  • Perform all purchasing functions, such as issuing purchase orders (POs), invoice creation, pricing verification, payment authorization, complete entries into accounting system
  • Input and maintain database of all products: maintains daily inventory update
  • Perform inventory cycle counts, spot counts and month end reconciliation process; research any variances and authorize appropriate inventory adjustments
  • Update company on any new products that may be more efficient or cost effective, obsolete products, product trends
  • Conduct records audit of inventory, adjustments and other metrics and prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports of findings to management
  • Keep packaging metrics updated
  • All other task as assigned
    • Proven work experience as a Purchasing/Inventory Control Coordinator
    • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
    • Knowledge of ASPEN or similar software a Plus
    • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Demonstrate leadership experience with a high-functioning, fast-paced team
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly EXCE
Education / Training
  • High school diploma, some college preferred. Recent college graduate welcome to apply
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft word/excel
Related Experience/Requirements
  • Minimum 5 experience in purchasing and inventory control coordinator
  • Experience and proficient in database management, analyzing and reporting data regarding inventory issues, results, trends, solutions
Physical Requirements
  • Job requires some lifting up to 60 lbs. Must be able to: step, climb, balance, squat, kneel, bend and reach above shoulders as needed.
  • Production is a refrigerated environment
